Buff, a financial platform inspired by classic loyalty programs (coffee shop punch cards, anyone?), has a modern twist- they provide users with real-life rewards for virtual wins. To court all gamers, from casual to pro, we constructed a set of codes complete with a dose of irreverence and more than a touch of neon to position Buff as an unforgettable new player in the financial game.

A critical piece of the brand was their currency, the Buff. We minted a series of digital coins, iridescent representations of value in the Buff universe and beyond. Designed to be instantly recognizable, they have a visual weight fitting for these valuable virtual assets.

The ultimate portal for playing, tracking, and spending, the Buff app was the culmination of our brand work. Clear information architecture and striking visuals convey the breadth of the offering while maintaining a sense of fun. Game on.

Level up

As any (good) gamer will tell you, you are your high score. We recognized that opportunities to “level up” appeal directly to gamers’ emotions. Buff-ers are continuously incentivized to come back and play more, unlocking new stages and winning more perks as they go.

Discord stickers

As we created the digital experience for Buff, we included opportunities for self-expression in this new sandbox. Where users once would have plastered a laptop with stickers, they’re now armed with Discord stickers to decorate their corner of the metaverse.

Unlike the alarmingly heavy credit cards thrown down at a group dinner, the Buff Card was not designed to subtly hint at your social standing. Our work stubbornly rejected the concept of platinum status and encouraged a conversation about the many rewards for incorporating gameplay into your daily life.
